Azure Static Web App - Add Custom Domains
Follow this runbook to add custom domains to an Azure Static Web App.
Prerequisites
Ownership of a domain is required.
To create a Static Web App from an Azure or GitHub repository, follow runbook:
(Optional) - To manage DNS through Azure, follow runbooks:
Navigate to Static Web App
In the top search bar type static web apps.
Select Static Web Apps under Services.
Click on the Static Web App that requires a custom domain adding.
Add Custom Domain
Under Settings, select Custom domains.
Only the Auto-generated domain currently exists.
Select + Add and choose either Custom domain on Azure DNS or Custom domain on other DNS.
Azure DNS
Enter the Domain name.
Choose the DNS zone.
Select Add.
It may take a few minutes to add the required CNAME record to the DNS zone.
Select Close once the DNS record has been successfully added.
Other DNS
Enter the Domain name you wish to use.
Select Next.
Add the DNS record provided to your domain. Follow your domain registrars instructions on how to do this.
Select Add.
It can take up to 48 hours for DNS changes to take effect.
Once the CNAME record shows as Validated, select Close.
View Web App Using Custom Domain
The custom domain should show as Validated and you can visit the Static Web App using the new custom domain.
